Why Locals Love Barney's
Situated in the heart of Torino, Barney’s is a captivating destination that brilliantly merges the essence of a Northern Italian restaurant, steak house, and vibrant bistro with the sophisticated charm of a cocktail and espresso bar. Housed within an astonishingly beautiful historic palace on Via Gianbattista Bogino, Barney’s offers an experience that is as visually arresting as it is culinary delightful.
The ambiance at Barney’s is an enthralling blend of timeless elegance and modern flair, making it a perfect spot for everything from a casual brunch to an intimate dinner or a lively event. Their brunch, held every Saturday from 11:30 to 14:30, transports guests to a bygone era with a carefully curated menu priced at €22.00. Imagine savoring the delicate balance of their spaghettone—al dente spaghetti dressed with vibrant tomato sauce, creamy stracciata di burrata, and a subtle dusting of taralli powder, creating a harmony of textures and flavors that dance on the palate.
For those who cherish classic Italian tradition, the vitello tonnato at Barney’s is a standout—tender veal cloaked in a silky, caper-infused sauce that embodies the soulful depth of Piedmontese cuisine. Meat lovers are not left wanting either, with an expertly crafted hamburger served on charcoal bread, offering smoky, robust notes that perfectly complement the juicy patty nestled within.
A sweet finish to your meal, or an indulgent afternoon treat, comes in the form of their pancakes and tiramisù served alongside sublime hot chocolate, crowned with fresh cream and house-made biscuits—a comforting and decadent ritual to embrace. Coffee aficionados will also find joy here; from the roasts that become velvety cappuccinos (including a beloved soy milk option praised as the best by regulars), to a well-curated espresso selection, Barney’s espresso bar is a haven for rich, invigorating flavors.
Customer reviews echo the enchantment of the venue and its offerings. Ada Name simply calls it an "insane location," urging visitors to experience the coffee alone. Beatrice Bonfè highlights the “best soy milk cappuccino” she’s encountered in years, while Matias Gurmandi lauds the pastries as “amazing” and appreciates the thoughtful inclusion of vegan options, though the menu leans on the intimate side. While Mark Salpeter notes the menu’s limited range could be expanded, it is precisely this curated approach that keeps the experience focused and refined.
More than just a restaurant, Barney’s uniquely doubles as an event venue and banquet hall, where the grandeur of historic spaces combines with gourmet cuisine to create memorable celebrations. Whether you're seeking an inviting spot for a quick coffee and snack break, a leisurely brunch with friends, or a sophisticated dinner with exquisite Northern Italian flavors, Barney’s captures the essence of Torino’s culinary scene with passion and grace.
For anyone wandering through the vibrant streets of Torino, a stop at Barney’s is not just a meal—it’s an immersion into a sensory Italian experience framed by history, taste, and style.

Insane location ! Go for a coffee there if you have a chance ! Astonishing place

Very beautiful and interesting space. The food was also ok, but the menu was limited and weird. If they just either had an a la carte menu with more extended brunch options or a proper brunch buffet it would be truly great, but I’ve got to remove a star for the weird menu.

Stunning location and best soy milk cappuccino I had in a long time!

Hidden gem inside a beautiful historical palace. The pastries are amazing, and there are great (though few) vegan options.

the location is in a noble palace in the very heart of Turin. Everywhere history and art are whispering to you. Everything is discrete, piemontaise style, and the food combines novelty and tradition. Flavors are bold and delicate at the same time and last but not least the elegant manners of the staff are perfectly in style with the environment.

Perhaps not for everyone. One of most unusual coffee /bar restaurants in city. Owned by a literary club in one of old palaces in the city. Its located on first floor so you go through the same entrance as residents would enter through. A good spot for a quiet coffee and to perhaps read your book.
